This elegant bridal clutch is recrafted from vintage Obi (the sash of the Kimono). It's truly one of a kind and a perfect gift for your loved ones!

PATTERN:
• Throughout all of Asia, the crane (TSURU) has been a symbol of happiness and eternal youth. In Japanese, Chinese, and Korean tradition, cranes stand for good fortune and longevity because of their fabled life span of a thousand years.
The Japanese refer to the crane as "the bird of happiness" that frequently appears on wedding kimono.
• The Hexagon (you can only see part of it) resembles a tortoise shell and is also a very common symbol of long life.
• On the back and the inside of the clutch there is the Asanoha pattern. It’s one of the most popular traditional patterns often seen on Japanese kimono. Asanoha means: Asa = hemp: no = of: ha = leaf. The regular geometric pattern, though abstract, represents overlapping hemp leaves.
The wives of merchants would wear it, to bring good fortune to the wearer. Because hemp was known for its rapid growth, the pattern was often used for clothes for newborn children.
